AGF/Delay

Agf/Delay is a collaboration of German sound-artist and poet Antye Greie (aka Laub) and Vladislav Delay. They’re first full lenght album Exlode was recorded in summer 2004 in north Finland, with a production process basically cut off from civilization. Finally released in 2005, the album strippes both musical concepts of Greie and Delay to the bone. Gone are the more glitchy, ultra-processed vocals of some of Greie’s previous solo works, and mostly gone is the ultra-complex rhythm programming that Delay had done under his own name. Despite its electronic origins, the Exlode is strangely organic, with all the decay and corrosion that implies. Their 2nd album release Symptoms has just been release on Bpitch Control in March 2009, it picks up exactly where Exlode left off: futuristic pop music with singer-songwriter-gestus and tons of depth. Symptoms is AGF and Delay’s musical reality check for a world turned upside-down. woven into a fine net from full beats, dubby textures, and tiny digital sound gimmickry, the twelve songs try to come to terms with the level of awareness and the apparently limited possibilities of mankind’s development.
